Formula Vee (FV) is a racing category for single-seat, open-wheel racing cars based on Volkswagen components.
It is considered the natural progression for drivers from Karting, and all the way up to Formula 1. It is a popular category for racers and spectators with thrilling close and competitive racing, testing driver skill, reactions and strategy.
Many F1 champions (Niki Lauda, Emerson Fittipaldi and Keke Rosberg) and local rising stars (Cameron Waters, Jack LeBrocq, Tim Brook, Liam Lawson and Tyler Everingham) raced FV during their racing careers.
The category is recognised and regulated by Motorsport Australia, and is a regular participant in the Victorian State Circuit Racing Championship (VSCRC) which is live streamed on Blendline Tv and involves more than 260 cars from multiple categories, including Formula Vee, Formula Ford, Porsche 944, Sports Sedans, Improved Production cars, Hyundai Excel and Saloon Cars.
The VSCRC season takes place during Feb – Nov each year, and it consists of 6 racing rounds held at Sandown Raceway, Phillip Island GP Circuit, and Winton Raceway.
